Best of Germantown - Nashville 2025

Germantown peaked a few years ago. These five restaurants didn't get the memo.

Germantown was the first Nashville neighborhood to develop a serious dining identity, and it's spent the last few years living off that. A lot of what's here is fine — comfortable, established, not particularly hungry anymore. Tailor is the most creative kitchen in the neighborhood and not close. Rolf and Daughters has been quietly excellent for years without needing the attention. City House defined what Southern-Italian could look like in this city and still does it better than anyone who's tried to follow. Henrietta Red is the best raw bar in Nashville. Babychan is the newest of the five and already belongs in this company. These are the reasons Germantown's reputation is still defensible.
