Best Italian - Nashville 2025

Italian in Nashville is mostly a disappointment. Four places aren't.

Italian food is the easiest thing in the world to do badly and one of the hardest things to do well. The mistakes are always the same — too much on the plate, pasta cooked without attention, sauces that mistake complexity for quality. Nashville has a lot of Italian restaurants. Most of them are making those mistakes. City House isn't doing traditional Italian and doesn't pretend to be — it's taking the influence somewhere more interesting, and it works. Rolf and Daughters uses Italian technique as a foundation without letting it become a constraint. Yolan is the most formal of the four, technically precise, and the room earns it. Tutti Da Gio is the neighborhood place on this list — straightforward, consistent, and better than it has to be. Four restaurants. That's what this city has right now.
